About

I'm a seasoned UI/UX engineer working across the full lifecycle of web applications — frontend, backend, CMS and server configuration. Over 20 years, I have created over a thousand websites, and my work sits at the intersection of design and infrastructure: I design the interface, then make sure the server behind it stays fast, secure and online.

Over the years that's meant leading UX strategy for large digital portfolios, hardening web security across multiple properties, and applying SEO and analytics to turn traffic into measurable growth. I'm looking for an environment with real architectural problems to solve and digital transformations worth leading.

I actually started out in computer networking, not design. A friend working in frontend pulled me into the field during a freelance stretch, and the interface side of the work took over from there. That networking background still shows up in how I think about a build; server configuration and security aren't an afterthought to me, they're part of the same system as the interface.

Where I'm Headed

After a decade-plus of shipping interfaces, I've started looking at UX from a different angle: what happens when the interface itself gets smarter. Most UI/UX work today still treats machine learning as someone else's problem. I don't think that lasts.

I've been digging into how sentiment analysis, computer vision, and ML-based personalization can move UX decisions from guesswork toward something more analytic, with less manual tuning needed to get an interface to actually fit the person using it. It's the direction I want my next chapter of work to take.

I'm actively looking to move part of that work into formal research — a graduate-level program where I can study ML-enhanced UX properly rather than picking it up in the margins of client work.

Sentiment Analysis (NLP)

Reading user intent and frustration directly from language, not just clicks.

Emotion AI (Computer Vision)

Using visual signal to understand how an interface is actually landing.

ML-Based Personalization

Interfaces that adapt to a person instead of asking them to adapt to it.

Research (Upcoming)

Looking to move into formal research to study ML-enhanced UX properly.

How I Work

01

Understand the system, not just the screen

Before any interface work starts, I look at what the server, CMS and data are actually doing. A design that ignores infrastructure usually breaks against it later.

02

Wireframe, then earn the visual layer

Flows and structure come first. Polish gets added once the interaction actually works, not before.

03

Ship, measure, adjust

Analytics and performance tools stay on after launch. A redesign that isn't measured is a guess with better typography.

04

Own security as part of UX

A slow or compromised site is a UX failure. Server hardening and monitoring are part of the deliverable, not a separate job.

What People Say

What I find most intriguing in Koushik's character is his diverse interests outside of software. Two of his long-time passions are history and literature. His broad variety of interests reflects favorably on his ability as a researcher, both in bringing a diverse set of theories to the research at hand and in carrying forward new hypotheses of interest toresearchers.

Mirza Rashedul Amin, Managing Director — Prime Tech Solutions Ltd.

Koushik has established himself as a trustworthy worker, who would be beneficial to any team. His key talents were a strong sense of human interaction and a desire to learn about new technology. He strengthened his relationship with his squad by being a team player.
